Seeking Balance

In the year of well… Pffft yeah 2020 being a year so a high level summary for me looks mixed and varied but my last 6 months looks like the past few years… (Yes it’s intentionally messy and hard to read.)

11.19 [ turn 30 ||Dad’s sick ||last stretch of IOTY ||My largest local cash income looking dodgy] 12.19[income is officially dead, I’ll be fine but not need to pull funds from UK ||Brexit still hitting the UK business retrench 4 staff members change business model|| 3rd co-working space finished refurb || Trip to the UK] 01.20 [ build TPA from the ground up || finish a refurb] 02.20 [SAPIN has a major Launch at FYE || FINANCIAL YEAR END I manage 4 trusts, 8 companies] 03.20 [SAPIN & TPA are basically new companies so they need work || whats’s this about COVID-19 || First big event of the year late March (The Property Show) || TPS Event Cancelled || National Lock Down I run 2 event companies || oh yeah I moved] 04.20 [2 event companies in national lockdown, survival mode || Commercial tenants mostly gone…|| res tenants not doing well either || more people are sick…]

I know for a fact that there are a bunch of things missing there but this isn’t some bullshit ‘look how busy I am’ post. The goal here is to talk about taking a break and to Clarify I have a metric shit ton of work I should be doing and today I put in 16 hours between an event and a revisiting a function of the business so any downtime I get is important.

What was I doing

up until now, I have had a “So long as I am being Intentional it fine.” So what this means is I won't feel bad for watching a movie or relaxing so long as it is the GOAL for that time. With the disaster, I held this position, If you need downtime take it if you need to be productive then do it. The only goal is to do what you think is best, So I did, I ‘d routinely ram 75 hours of work into a week but completely ignore all logic and have a nap at 1600 on most days, or take the whole weekend and play games. At this point in the pandemic, I had already had a long few months so for a while I needed to STOP.

And I was useless

Games, movies, series and 14-hour sleep, the most productive I was during my ‘downtime’ was making food.

Post Recovery

So by no means is the Chaos over, the world is a literal dumpster fire but I need my brain to start working, And that’s the major point of this post, Going forward on my Medium page there will be a change of pace. I need a space for my brain to work outside of properties and the current businesses so expect some non-property content maybe Entrepreneur but definitely not what you are expecting.
